"Give them FACE!" (2 hours)
Want to take your stage presence to the next level? Let's work on our face muscles! In this performance workshop, our focus is to develop facial expressions and intentions that will add depth to your dance, as well as a connection to your audience that will pull them in and keep them totally engaged. We will look at theatrical exercises, tips, and guidelines on how to up the drama for your next performance!
*Can be tagged on with "Up the Drama" choreography workshop.
"Up the Drama!" (4 hours)
In this epic mini performance intensive, dancers will use techniques and tools learned from Lorena's expressions workshop, and apply them to a fusion belly dance choreography filled with lots of tension, drama, and expression! A breakdown video will be sent to dancers ahead of time. This workshop can include a performance opportunity!

"Pop, Lock, & Drop It!" (2 hours)
Let's get glitchy! In this workshop, we focus on fun and exhilarating Fusion Belly Dance locking combinations, stylization, sequences, and technique. Challenging our brains and skill, we will play with timing, speed, accents, and wild layers to keep things extra exciting! These tools will help to develop your locking technique to be sharp, precise, and as fast as lighting!
"Double Trouble" (2 hours)
Dive into the dangerous world of not one, but two swords! In this prop specific workshop, dancers will learn technique, combos, and jaw dropping double sword tricks! We will go over moves that are guaranteed crowd pleasers, and look at how to build tension and drama that will have your audience at the edge of their seats!
"Bellymanco Combos" (2 hours)
With a BA in Flamenco, Lorena shares but a glimpse into the world of Flamenco and Belly Dance Fusion. Let's take our favorite classic belly dance moves like undulations and shimmies, and merge them with Flamenco arms, footwork patterns, turns and more! We will learn vocabulary, technique, cultural references, and combinations in this elegant fusion workshop.
"It's Alive!" (4 hours)
Join Lorena in the mad scientist lab and learn how to develop the very best tools to create a choreography you can call your own. We will take a journey through our own personal creativity, and see how a choreography begins as a thought bubble in your head and transforms into a work of art! Music mapping, story telling, costuming, concept and intention will all be broken down to fit your personalized dance piece!
"Winning Your Spinning!" (2 hours)
Let’s look at the most helpful tips and tricks to get your turns and spins in tip top shape! Technique on how to execute a strong turn safely, get perfect timing, avoid dizziness, and variation of styles will be broken down. Dancers will come away with a variety of exciting and show stopping turns to add to your repertoire!
"Dazzling Retro Combinations!" (2 hours)
In this workshop, travel back in time to a groovy Egyptian night club set in the 1970's! Students will learn retro-esque belly dance combos inspired by dance legends such as Soheir Zaki and musical masterminds such as Omar Khorshid, and more! First, we will look at moves and accents that were popular during that time period, then apply those movements to combos and phrases you can add to your next retro inspired dance!
